French Alps

Sue kindly drove us to Draguinon to pick up the hire car. The car is a manual, so its remember to change gears - with your right hand. Then it was up into the mountains via the Gorges de Verdun and mountain goats on the road. The progress was slow with a lot of stopping to take photos.

We stayed in a very cute B & B in Sisteron. The stairs were very narrow so we just took up the bare essentials. We had an interesting chat at breakfast with the hosts and a Belgian cyclist. The Belgian helped a lot with our fractured French.

Over coffee the next morning we decided where to go next before Grenoble. With wifi, available even in cafes it is so easy to book. Off to Die [pron Dee] over the mountain and into another river valley to the northwest.
