The glider is about 8m long, weighs
60kg, has little fins and is torpedo shaped. It glides underwater
and is full of batteries and recording instruments for gathering
information on the Gulf Stream and polar currents. They launched it in
the Barents sea two weeks ago and it is now gliding slowly [more
slowly than they thought] near Norway. Jean Claude is in touch with
the Norwegian research people and hopefully a fishing boat will pick
it up. But how much will that cost?
