We
set out in drizzle to go for a walk along part of the Petit Ceinture
which was a railway that ringed Paris. The driest way to get there
was two lines on the Metro. We enjoyed the ten piece band in the
passage as we walked along. It was dry by the time we got to our
walk, which was mostly along a raised embankment.
One of the old station platforms was set up with seating. There were a number of plaques describing the flora and fauna which now inhabit the area since the trains stopped running.

The
drizzle started again at the end of the walk, but the plan was to go
on to Parc George Brassens. It was lovely to see the flowers and
different plantings and
the way the land had been re-landscaped [formerly
slaughterhouses] with small hills which made
the park interesting with lots of curves.

We
had thought it might be closed on a Monday, but fortunately not and
about half an hour after we got there the restaurant was full.
Lovely meal, it was a pity they haven't upgraded the coffee from
robusta to arabica.
