We found it interesting that train
platforms are only announced about 15 minutes before the train
departs. Passengers stand under the display and then all rush off
when the number shows on the board. It does make for good crowd
control.

Change of arrangements this time – we
printed out tickets, but it wasn't the ticket – as we had done in
the past. Last minute rush around to get a real ticket printed.

Two hours to Lyon then a change to
Vienne which took 20 minutes. We are staying in a small, old hotel,
maybe coaching inn looking at the doors on the outside, with good
facilities and external “venetian” blinds. They look great from
the street on this building. We wonder if they would work at our
house?
In Vienne it was 30°
so we had a slow walk around town keeping to the shady side of the
street.
