We had heard that Lorgues market was
big and it is enormous. Shoes, clothing, kitchen accessories, table
linen and towels, china, jewellery, hair supplies down the long main
street, around into a side street and into another square . Food is
together at the end and down side streets. The refrigerated vans
are able to plug into pop-up power supply sockets in the footpath. The council charges 5€ for a table.
Watching some manoeuvring at lunch– there was a car badly parked in a
side lane and the fishmonger was trying to drive his long, long
trailer out. A man was asking/shouting for the owner, then got into
the unlocked car and rolled it down a bit. That didn't give enough
room so three market men bounced the bonnet up and down to shift the
car sideways. They did it twice which worked as the truck and
trailer moved through without any scraping.
The repairman came to fix the
lave-vaisselle. Now that stretched the french! It's fixed.
