Friday

Today a medieval walk to rue de Montmorency to look at a house built by Nicholas Flamel in 1407 to house homeless people [http://www.peter-pho2.com]. The house is easily the oldest in a narrow nondescript street of shuttered fronts in an area of wholesale shops. Flamel was said to be an alchemist and his house nearby was pretty well demolished after his death by people looking for gold! The charity house is now a restaurant with an older interior. In the interests of research we had lunch there! The meal was delicious.
