We went for a walk
in the Marais, to see a new garden and an old ash factory. The
garden, Jardin des Rosiers has been made open to the public. There
is part of the Philippe Auguste wall [1200], an ancient fig with its
limbs propped and a community garden being made. The Ash Factory which was created to handle scrap left after jewellery manufacture, now
houses an enormous Uniqlo shop but still has the chimney in the
middle of the building and an exhibition and videos on the lower
ground floor.
