It was a grey day in Paris, but the
promise of rain didn't eventuate. We scurried across the river to
catch the train to church. A great service and nice chat over coffee
afterwards. Because of the grey day and the pressing need to pick up
wine and cheese before the shops shut around midday, we came back
home. We looked at the market in Square des Innocents, then went to
the supermarket and to another market in rue Montmartre and bought
tagine for lunch. We then decided it was far too much for lunch so
went out for salad! In the middle of all that we went for a look
[just open for the weekend] at the construction of the canopée of the new Les Halles train interchange and shopping centre.
Later
we went to Bercy to a new garden. It was very large and very
creative with thickets of trees to wander through, seats on pontoons
and water features in just the part we saw. There were signs saying
“if you love birds, don't feed them.” No-one was feeding the
ducks.
