cycling in the Camargue

We hired bikes and rode along the seawall/dike to the light house Phare de la Gacgolle. The track was good except a couple of parts where it went beside sandhills and the sand was deep on the track. The bikes were heavy and it was hard work pushing them through the sand. But it was great to be up on bikes for a good view. There was more water than land. On one side enormous lagoons with flamingoes stretched inland and on the other, a ditch, lagoon, low sand hills then the sea.

There is a large gravel park in town used for boules and markets. Today after the market they were cleaning up with tiny trucks and watering the gravel.

  2. Thanks. Good camera - took a long shot then cropped them. Not sure how much they can be enlarged. The water is shallow so the reflections are good. Both of those were taken at nearly midday.

  3. I meant to ask you earlier in your trip to look out for cute whippet signs in French at the markets. It might be a needle in a haystack so only if you were looking at the markets anyway. A member of the Facebook group has one.
