Walked to the Maison du Tourisme on the edge of town [plenty
of parking there] for a town map before it got too hot. Then up into the town for coffee. We stopped at a popular looking café under
the trees. The coffee was coming from
the kitchen at the back of the dress shop.
The waitress was very elegantly dressed.
We looked at the finished renovations to one of the wall gates, then had a meander around the citadel. Look there’s flowers in those pots, the ivy is starting to go red, that bit could do with some renovation.

Dinner with Sue and Jean Claude was a delight.
Jean Claude prepared a
tarte de soleil for an aperitif and Sue prepared meat and vegetables
for a
plancha. It was great to catch up with them, their
house renovations – stone walls, tiling and discussing different government
policies on climate change and Jean Claude’s next conferences.
Jean Claude is an oceanography researcher on
a contract to the E.U.
When we got back to the apartment, the hot water wasn’t. The instructions were to turn the hot water
system on, but there were two settings. Obviously
one right and one wrong!
