travelling Vienne to Grenoble

The two car train from Vienne to Lyon [20 mins] was full, standing room only or seating on the stairs.  Hilary sat.  We chose to have a wait in Lyon so we didn’t have to change stations.  We found the less busy waiting area, which included work stations and power points.  We settled in with coffee and pastries.  Just before the departure time we went to the departure boards where everyone stands gazing up waiting for the platform to be added.  We were entertained by someone playing the free piano.  Have you seen  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVAdbzDmUZc               

Up we went to the platform and two minutes before departure another platform was announced – from K to E.  And we thought it would be a slow sitting day.

We had lunch at Grenoble station, bought tickets and went to the tram stop.  As we were looking at the diagram [back to the tracks] we just caught sight of the tram gliding out!  They are very quiet.  It was a two minute wait for the next one.  All stops were announced several stops before.  We had a short walk to the hotel.
