Due
to the storm warnings we had a museum day. The first museum was
about ten minutes walk away but it took us much longer than that. We
walked a up to a long rectangular “sink hole” which was a car
park. The route took us down steps across and up the other side. On
one side of avenue des Thermes was a fountain and along the other
side were four arches each with a water pool. While we were there a
tow truck came and towed away a car which was right angle parked.
Musée d'Estienne de Saint-Jean was a tiny local museum in a beautiful mansion. Afterwards we sat in Place Hôtel-de-Ville with the flower market and watched the passing parade. There are tiny local buses which seat seven which go in and out of the narrow streets. They are electric and very quiet but not silent.

We
were a bit late finding lunch – 12:40 and the street we checked was
busy. The boulangerie was full, the traiteur full, and the four
cafes at the end of the street bursting at the seams. The first one
– non – the second wait until the waiter sees us then “sit
there” the only exterior table we could see available. Interior is
not popular we guess people like as much sun as possible. The only
way you could tell the different cafes was by their furniture. We
were all under the trees together. We waited a while for our meal
but at no time was anyone rushed. A trio of older people nearby
lingered over dessert and second coffees.

There was not
enough rain the get out the umbrellas. Looking at the radar, it went
around us. Yellow alert storms are forecast for tonight.
We
stopped at Monoprix for food, but they didn't have a cheese
“platter”. So after we picked up a demi baguette, Hilary went on
to Casino to get the cheese.
