A short walk away From Parc Montsouris is Citè Florale, a tiny village with
the streets named after flowers, glycines, volubilis, iris, liserons,
orchidees.
We then meandered our way up the hill to Tolbiac.
Sq des Peupliers, a triangle street. Above R and R. |
Rise for Earth street march started at the Hôtel
de Ville about 2pm and took 2 1/2 hours to pass the apartment. It was thought 18,000 people took part. We had planned to cross rue de Sébastopol to go to the new supermarket,
but decided to stay on this side and go to one around the corner.
We went to a free piano recital at St Merri just nearby, and
stayed awake. Just.
Now that vertical garden is pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteTrouble is, we're not sure what it does to the mortar.
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that plants like that don't usually damage the wall they grow on, and in fact often protect the wall from the elements
DeleteAgree, I believe some do and some don't. One of the art deco houses on Butte B.... was noted as covered in ivy and now isn't - no damage at all.
