Tourtour

Tourtour dans le Ciel

A hilltop village with fountains pouring water.  We found it strange that the water comes bubbling through the rocky ground up to the top of the hill.  A lady came out and filled her jugs – free mineral water.  In one spot water was thundering down the hillside.  The village plants pots were all lush and flowering.

We had taken our recycling to put somewhere.  There are lots of detecheries, in the village in the countryside, as there is no kerbside pickup.  We found one at Tourtour -newspapers in one, glass is easy – in that one, plastic and cardboard bits in the next one.

We bought rabbit terrine at the supermarket deli from a large earthenware pot.  It was a new pot and when Geoff told the lady he only wanted a small slice she demurred and suggested he get a little more to avoid the end bit.  She cut a slice and scaped all the jelly and fat off the end before weighing.

Before dinner the Nourses were instructed on how to make a Tarte de Soleil, this time with pistou and chorizo.  Not as good as the master.  After dinner we started talking about plant apps and Jean Claude pulled out his 1950s schoolbooks with dried plants taped onto the pages - the original!

  1. It looks so lush and green. We are in the middle of a wet spell. Welcome, but it is school holidays....at least some drought areas had rain on Thursday.

  2. Good. Dad thinks we should ask our "gardener" to turn off the watering system.
